Default Steyr RSO 1/16 RC non-fighting vehicle

New Year - new build ... thatīs a matching slogan to present my new build.
This time it's different because itīs a non-fighting tractor (usually Iīm building only AFV's).

The windscreen is missing but will be added soon.
The doors and side/back shields are moveable.

That's really cool. I saw the Y-tube a couple days ago. Sorry to hear you not offer a kit, but think I understand why...
That's a beauty.
Best regards, HNY,
Bob

Do you have the STL files for the cab or is this the Vandra kit? I really want to build one of these and the cab would be a great starting point. I searched on line and I guess the kit is no longer available.

No it's not Vandra, this is a completely different and new design respectively made by myself.

Hi I have been working on a RSO also. My research shows that the real RSO is rear sprocket drive with the motor in front. What motors and gearbox did you use? Can you show pictures of the installed motors and drive? Great looking build, cant wait to see it painted.

Iīve designed a small gear in the back, because in front I need the space for the electronics.
Here you are

Hi everyone,
I was looking for a model of the Styre RSO and all can find is 1/35th scale. Then I found a link to your build on youtube. You're build came out great. How would you like to see an RC 1/6 scale of this vehicle? It's scratch built with some 3DP parts, I think everyone will like it. No, I didn't build it, a guy in Sweden built it.

We had the idea of doing this RSO also in 1/6 and did some tests in 3DP. It's not only an upscaling of the 1/16 and many things have to be changed (manufacturing, material, ...).
After all we have to say it would be very pricey and that nobody wants to pay that amount, I'm sorry....

I can attest that upscaling a well engineered model does cause some headaches like bearing sizes and shaft sizes. I've used my slicer to create bearing adapters, but it takes a few test prints to get them to fit just right. Perfect job for a 3D printer though.
