There is a tab that is part of the wing fences that passes through the wing. The struts are hollow and insert over the tab and secured with a single 4-40 screw and nylon wing nut.

The finish work is going slowly due to rain. I did get a battery tray with integrated ESC mount built up. Looks like I will be able to remove 20-25 grams of wire from the ESC with this arrangement.
