I'm in the same boat. So many of the guys are going for giants these days, and I've already gone the giant route. Now I've started going with smaller birds for ease of storage and transportability....

Easy solution for the too-tight fit against the cowl..

Place washers behind the engine mount. 1 or 2 thicknesses should do the trick.
