RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

You don't need the foam there, once the tank is full it expands pretty good and probably won't move much, I often find mine wedged in and have to free it up a bit.

Why would you not use the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Congratulations and yes, the felt clunks can be an issue although not for everyone and the main fuel tank is empty when it still shows about 1/2 inches of fuel at the front (because it leans slightly...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Since I had to switch to metal clunks and do away with the felt its really difficult to fully empty the tanks then once I disconnect the main tank from the wing tank I end up covered in diesel.

I...

Looks good, I use DW's setup also, no crow, not really sure why people use crow for this jet it already has washout and as everyone says it flat stalls becaues of that so it would seem that all you...

Ok makes sense<div>
</div><div>But guys fly with full smoke tanks all the time, the fuel is roughly the same weight right?</div><div>
</div><div>Maybe I'll just switch to the saddle tanks instead...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Im thinking of adding saddle tanks along with the main and wing tank in order to get a longer flight, has anyone run 4 fuel tanks? what was your experience?

thanks

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Just wanted to give you guys a bit of feedback, I changed my clunks from the stock felt to the BVM heavy ones, I no longer have a issue with flame outs, I test ran a whole tank of fuel on the ground...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

FOR THE GUYS WHO WERE INTERESTED IN THE RESULTS OF MY INVESTIGATION.

I took the tanks apart today and checked the clunks, the felt on the clunks is solid, where I used to be able to slide it up...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I think you might have the same problem I had before, I thought I followed the instructions to a T but it turns out that when my UF is sat on the ground and there is about 3/4 of fuel showing in the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Hi Pat

The funny thing is that when I isolate the tanks they both still feel restricted which is why I suspect the clunks are blocked, also this system worked fine for many flights before now.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Thanks Pat

Luckily I have bvm heavy clunks at home so I will change them later, I will know if it has worked because there will be a lot less pressure when I blow into the tanks.

I will leave...

I'm going to meet Barry at the field tomorrow, he's bringing his laptop and wire so more data to follow, I think I'm going to change the clunks anyway

thanks

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

No I haven't been over to barry yet, I just texted him and will arrange it all, I'm sure the UF fueling system is at fault because its quite restrictive in my testing I just can't find an actual...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Hey,

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I have a quick question.

I'm running a k140 in mine and made over 40 flights with it, then flame out!! it turned out that I ran out of fuel, I built the plane exactly per the instruction or so I...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

thats either because you don't have enough down mixed in or your not flying slowly enough.

with full flaps you should be in the 25 to 40 mph range without balooning

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I don't see that removing the inlet joiner will help acceleration, the intakes on the UF are big enough to feed that turbine, especially in the mid to low range, i think its mostly down to the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Exactly,

I think the biggest problem people are having is caused by way to much flare/poor setup, with the full 4" flaps you almost don't have to flare it, really my UF lands best when its as...
