RE: Larger Revolver

The nice thing about buying from Tower is that they stand behind their product, usually no questions asked. They gave me a new DLE 55 when the engine failed approximatey 4 months after their repair....

RE: Larger Revolver

Hey WJ, did you refer to post 1036. That is now ancient history. We are up to 6132. Although, I am sure the info is still good.

RE: Larger Revolver

Al, They carry a bare arf and a combo. I bought one of each, with the thought of keeping the arf for spare parts. The combo, which included a motor, esc and servos seamed like a great deal,...

RE: Larger Revolver

Ahicks, I have been having the same exerience with a 48" epp edge. What a blast, but like you I am eating prop tips, with the different stall character. But what a blast. It will elevator in and...

RE: Larger Revolver

The 59 was a handfull for me, also. 59 vs 70, is like a Corvette compared to a Malibu. I wonder if it is the wing loading. I found it to be a real handful, but fast and fun, as long as you stay...

RE: Larger Revolver

Ahicks, I recently started flying a 48" EPP foam Edge, with similar results. Flies great and is perfect for getting used to flying under adverse attitude. But like you, I am still learning the...

RE: Larger Revolver

Choke servo, opti switch or Ignition Battery Eliminator Circuit. Have to have a remote way to turn off engine, without delay. Some radios also allow for a throttle cut off, which lets you trim...

This is the link for a 50 cc 3 D Hobby Shops Extra build manual. Page 21 has a great method for the extended throttle arm. You may want to check it out.

RE: Larger Revolver

Ahicks, Sorry for the cofusion, I edited my post to refer to WJC's directions for the flat spins. Must have had a senior moment when I originally wrote the post, having started with WJC and then...

RE: Larger Revolver

My understanding is that the CG will effect knife edge menuvers. For instance, during conventional knife edge, my Extra pulls to the canopy when it is flown nose heavy. And the flat spins are...

RE: Larger Revolver

Micro, sorry to hear of your accident. Hopefully no broken or fractured bones. About 3 years ago, I kicked an oak chair at 2am on my way to the dark bathroom and fractured my big toe. Had one of...

RE: Larger Revolver

Microdon, The upright flat spin starts at level flight and idle speed to bring about a stall. Push into the menuver with slight left aileron, apply left rudder and then up elevator. The more throw...

RE: Larger Revolver

When you include the the super saver price of $400 you are starting out with $250 or more on the table, plus around $70 to $170 in shipping savings. But the added carbon would definitely cut into...

RE: Larger Revolver

Their Yak 55M is currently priced at $449. And the last time I looked, the additional shipping charge was $80. I think the price of the new Rev is consistent with the Yak 55. Do they every...

RE: Larger Revolver

RE: Larger Revolver

Looks like pin hinges in the photo. Nice looking construction. I think this will be in the Great Planes stable for a long time. It really is beautiful. Did he say it will accomodate the 55R?

RE: Larger Revolver

Either way, it should be a great plane when it is done. I think the muffler is not as close to the crank case on the 55R as the 35R. But I thought the comment might save someone the possibly...

RE: Larger Revolver

Just to put it out there, I saw a build/review of a 30 size plane with the new DLE 35 rear muffler engine. The muffler box was high enough to conflict with the bottom of the engine box. The...

RE: Larger Revolver

The stock muffler is around 4 oz. A pitts is around 9 or 10 ounces. A canister or pipe is even more. I like aerobatic planes and weight is always a consideration. Probably a bad habit. Have...

RE: Larger Revolver

RE: Larger Revolver

Chicken sticks work great on 50 cc planes. I have been using one for over 2 years. Unlike a glove, they fit in your pocket and are more convenient. They can also save your hand from an errant...
