RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I dont have a cockpit, since i know whos flying the plane, and we dont have a lot of spectators to try and fool. What i like is to be able to look into the fuse tank, and see a 1/2 tank of fuel lef,...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I had posted similar speeds (a friends UF) with a P120. I think 273 mph, just to indicate how fast these planes are capable of. Some had a hard time believing the speeds posted. But i think they...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Oh Dear - What are we going to do????
The only two qualified, experienced enough experts to answer a question, and they disagree!!!!!
What has become of our hobby, chaos, no answers, and only two...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

We got away with 72, now we are getting away with DSMX. With DMSS, we at least have reliability up with only two non satellite reciever whiskers. And we get telemetry with a satellite. So we are...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

The ones above are the very best i have seen. I have not seen the trailing link, but i can say that the new stock ones are well sprung, with long springs that will simply will out last and work...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

In regards to a 180RX, it is same size, and weight as a 140. Costs a little more, and gives more head room for take off and verical. I know of two who are planning this when the engines become...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

If they reduce the cost, im in. Not sure it will hold up as well as balsa. Personally I'm not excited about foam.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Im not sure foam is a structural improvement. It may be lighter, cheaper, and easier to build with but foam is not a structurally better material than balsa. It has to do with compressibility, and...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Posting how fast a Flash will go is only appropriate. Most of us are trying to comply with the regs, and knowing that they can exceed the limit is good knowledge. Most of us dont use a pitot tube,...

What colors are we looking toward?
I have the Shui colors swapped for the Black orange, and yellow, and find its visibility better. There is more contrast, and it stands out in spite of or...

160 SX
I had a 160 in mine for the first twenty flights, then i sent it in and while it was serviced i used a 120SX. Didnt really notice that much difference in all out speed. Takeoffs were a...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

My kit didnt come with pins, so i had to make them up with ground rod from McMaster Carr. Maybe Andy will send me some. I might have mentioned we have PetroMat with some rough ground under the mat....

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

This is the color i have had and flown. It is clearly the most visible color scheme yet. I wish this would be a standard color, as it is seen so oftain. Its so similar to Shulmans Ultra Lightning,...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Ill buy your struts if you like. They are awesome. The spring is much longer, and does not seem to fatigue as the Dreamworks do. But i do like the large half inch socket, clamp better than the...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

So what have been the most successful mods needed to make the retracts work the best. In 75 flights i have tried quite a few different methods of working the gear best. I had been reluctant to...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Has anyone found a fix for the 6mm pins twisting on the main gear? Lock tited and tightened and retightened every 6 to 10 landings. Some one suggested boring out to 8mm. Would that be a good...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Objectivity is great.
I think this thread is worthy because we have been having some problems with these new Behotecs. I have not cared for the pin mount, but that is probably just a preference....

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Now if Dream Works could make the link like the new struts have or if Behotec could make a socket like the Dream Works...hmm.... then we could really have something.

Thanks for all the insights here. I machined a pair of spacers, and placed an 1/8th inch spacer between strut and retract, using the stock Behotec parts. The wheel well was modified, rather than...
