RE: Larger Revolver

I don't think so. Otherwise it would have fluttered on the W.O.T. down lines! I had a Hitec HS-5625 on the Elevator(s) and upgraded to 4-40 push rods when I built it. A 15x6 ripping on a low pass...

RE: Larger Revolver

Piled my Revovler in today. I was in a tight climbing circle at WOT (do this a lot) about 40 feet off the ground and then the plane looked like it snapped out and into fast death spiral. As I...

RE: Larger Revolver

That's my experience. The compact pitts sounds a lot like the stock muffler. The standard size makes the engine sound like a larger engine with not so much "BRAT-BRATBRAT" to the exhaust note.

RE: Larger Revolver

I have a Jtech standard Pitts and it is noticeably quieter than the stock muffler. I also have a Jtech Compact Pitts and it is marginally quieter than the stock muffler. I also have the Valley View...

RE: Larger Revolver

Well, ripped the CA hinges on one of the ailerons of my R70. Got it down safely but looks like it is time for some pin hinges. Man, I love this plane!

RE: Larger Revolver

Good luck with that. My wife of 12 years tolerates it - but just. When she starts to give me grief i remind her that I could go back to racing cars again where a weekend of racing would cost me...

RE: Larger Revolver

As a comparison. Mine weighs right at 8lbs with a Saito 100 in it.

RE: Larger Revolver

Well, I failed to mention one thing. I use a Turbo Muffler from RC Specialties on my Saito. It is good for 200-300 more RPM and I love the sound!

RE: Larger Revolver

Well, the 14x8 is definately faster but I usually keep the 15x6 on the Revolver for the vertical performance. I had this exact engine on a P-51 for a year or so and used the 14x8 on it for max...

RE: Larger Revolver

Sure it is. I interchange the APC 14x8 and 15x6 depending if I'm in a speed mood or more into vertical performance.

RE: Larger Revolver

Mid 9K range on 25% nitro in very hot conditions. I've tried a Xoar 15x6 and the engine did not like that prop at all and wouldn't break 9K. It takes about 9930RPM to make a 15" prop rip in the air...

RE: Larger Revolver

I have to agree. I love this plane (Saito 100 & APC 15x6). Good looks, decent speed, good aerobatic capability and not that expensive. I put five flights on mine this past Sunday in the 106 degree...

RE: Larger Revolver

I think those are the prices they've always been. I'm a super saver club member and I can get the DLE 20 for $229 and free shipping.

RE: Larger Revolver

It was 110 on Tuesday and 109 here yesterday and there is no end in site. We're 32 days straight over 100 degrees. We start flying at 9:00 and try to pack up by 1:00.

RE: Larger Revolver

Actually, I'm originally from Memphis, TN. Moved to north Texas in 1986.

Man, that sucks. Hope you find another one and get back in the air soon. I like reading your R70 posts!

RE: Larger Revolver

A bunch of us flew here in Texas last Friday and it was 107 with 5-10mph winds. I got there around 11:00am and left about 4:00pm. I had 9 bottles of water that day and my clothes were soaked...

RE: Larger Revolver

What is "hot" in New York. Here in north Texas, we're 18 days straight of over 100 degrees and close to 30 days with no rain. We're ROASTING down here!

RE: Larger Revolver

Mine was pretty easy to balance moving the battery around and I can move it about 3" so I experimented with the CG to get a better flat spin. I went as far as 1/2" behind recommended but the...

RE: Larger Revolver

Yea, they are the BOMB! I felt the same way when I used them the first time and that's why I keep harping on people to use them on this plane if they are having trouble landing it smoothly.

As...
