You certainly do have a nice selection of models.
The RAF planned to hang bombs on tigers, if things had become desperate
and the invasion had actually gone a head.

Here are two of mine. The first is a Flop tite Hollywood Zero with Spring Air retracts And powered by a OS Max 1.20 4C at 8.5#. The second is a Platt (light) Focke Wulf 190 A-4 With Platt retracts and Moki 1.8 for power at 14.25#.

Yes do be proud of your Fathers who have served. My step Father was in the Navy (Korean War) on the Valley forge and Antietam after he passed away I got his books on the ships and a lot of great action shots of Corsairs there. He was also allowed on the bridge and got some really good action shots of the deck.

Just touching on the Korean war.
WE have a member in our flying club (The Norwich Model Aero Club (UK))
who was involved in the ground war. He still suffers from nightmares to this day.

These warbird pics are fantastic, it's a shame we don't all live close to one another.
We could have the biggest warbird meet ever.

This thread has taken us to several theatres of World War Two.
Europe, NTH Africa, the Pacific, Eastern front etc. WE have even been to the Korean conflict.
If we drift slightly off of the WW2 fighter course, so what. If it brings with it pics like we have seen on the previous page, who cares.

If you have a story to tell about WW2 or whatever conflict. Then tell it.
This thread is everything I hoped it would be.
You Chaps are doing a fantastic job.

PS. Below is a Stearman. Primary trainer of WW2, built from the Flair kit.
W/s approx 90inches, Motor Zenoah 45cc.
Model belonged to Peter Reed, I use to fly it for him Bonus!. It flies beautifully.
Has now been sold to another club member.
At least it's still in the club.

Another Warbird from Sweden,
My 1/6 scale Focke Wulf Fw190F-2 built from a German Topp-kit. Powered by a ST3000 with onboard glow, Dave Platt retracts and functional bomb-drop.
I LOVE Tempests, but the Fw190 is sooo cool, and an easy flier too!!

Java, give as more info about the Tempest!

My Ziroli was a basketcase when I obtained it in a trade. All wood had been hand cut by whoever started it. The wing was completed but needed a ton of work to fix. For instance, the ailerons, though built with the wing and cut out did not match the wing tips. The wing tip ended about an inch too short ? how'd that happen ?, so new trailing edges on the wing tips were fabricated. I also changed the hinging from a regular nylon hinge as per the plan to a more scale robart hinge point, then added a new leading edge to the ailerons for the hinge covers. The top of the wing had also been glassed and was just awful, had to grind out the runs and wrinkles in the cloth then fill in the mess. The tail had been installed about 1/2" crooked measured from the wing tips to the tail tips, sooooooo I cut it off and put a new laser cut tail (stab,elevators and rudder) to the fuse. The fuse is nice and the plans good, however you need to change quite a few things if you want it scale in the hinge department. To be honest, if you are not worried about the 94", I would look at the Y/A P40E/MkIa. That is a beautiful kit and all those scale details have been addressed.

I purposely shyed away from the teeth, so many have them and the lines of the plane get lost. Also I wanted a unique story behind mine. Squadron Leader John 'Willi' Williams was shot down and captured by the germans. Thrown into Stalag luft III, he participated in the 'Great Escape' and was one of those recaptured and murdered by the Gestapo. It's chaps like Willi I try to honor.

She flies well, you hear much about P-40's being hard to fly, not really, quirky compared to my Thunderbolt but no surprises. Warbirds are all very similar, as long as you have correct airspeed, all is well.

You can't tell, that it is not a real Hurricane.
There are a lot on these pages that look like that.
Congratulations on a fantastic looking model.

We are having a couple of fly-ins at RAF Coltishall (Norfolk) this year.
The first is on the May the 1st weekend, including the Saturday and monday.
The second will bo on Sunday September the 4th. This one is a Battle of Britain
commemorative event.

RAF Coltishall is the only operational Battle of Britain fighter station left.
Only until December 2006, when sadly it is due to close.

Would you be interested in bringing your Hurricane to one or both of these events.
PS. I have just started MR 1/4 scale Spit, I am hoping to have it ready for the Battle of Britain
would look nice with that Hurricane of yours.

Kyosho Corsair, OS70, nothing special just paint and weathering. A beautiful 40 size scale ARF that flies excellent ! Sold to a guy who has it hanging collecting dust as a display model.

World Models GS P-51/MkIV, Zenoah G38, testors spray bomb, 18-19 lbs, sold and is in Florida, never liked that beast.

It was luck that I got them both in the same pic, both are NWHT planes, and are flown in seattle. dont know the specs, but I believe one or both has US41. Maybe the owners will chime in, Mike and Jeff?
