Thanks Ravill,

I only learned about this brand from the warbird forums on here. I thought i'd give them a try and they seem to work out just fine.
They also have more of a selection for different applications. The one i used is not for RC use unless you use the extra pc board which converts it to a servo type actuator.
Plus it will move more weight if needed.

I have been able to finally get a program set-up for the sabre and was also able to get the lights all hooked up and tested.

Great Project Greg. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas on this new project. Have you tried the firgelle linear actuators on gear doors? Looks like their smaller versions meant to plug directly into a receiver would work?

Hi Rod,

No i haven't tried the firgellii small actuators on gear doors.
This is the first one i have ever used.
I think it would be a bit difficult to get them to work because you only have a certain amount of throw to work with.

I have used the Firgelli L12 rc actuators on several jets and they work great. The 30mm 6v 50/1 gear ratio one will work with just about any gear door. They plug into the rx just like a servo. The atv can be set thru the tx but if you get the travel close the unit will amp out and self adjust. This is my install in a SM 1/5th Sabre. I have some video of them operating but it wont upload, I can email them to you if you want to see it.

The building of this project has come to the end. Time to get ready to lay down some paint on it.

Looks awesome, Greg. I'm jealous!

What's the actual airframe weight at this point?

Greg, it's looking really nice. just subscribed to watch your progress. I'll have to come down to watch it fly. Did Tomahawk have a cockpit kit or are you building? rob

Hi rob,

Tomahawk did have the cockpit kit for it. When your ready to go fly your jet let me know you can come down to my club field and we will get you going on your waiver.
I fly at Eli field in Monticello IL we have a few guys that can be of assistance with getting you a waiver.

It's been awhile since i have posted to my thread. But i have just recently started to get the painting of the sabre started.

I spent the last month redoing my garage so i would have a nice heated space to do all of my painting in the winter months. Now that it is finished i was able to start getting the wings in to paint.

Here are just a few pictures of my progress over the last couple of days.
