Default 100x wont start.

hello all, I have a problem with my 100x. It started after I had a flame out. When I try to start the turbine, fuel goes to the turbine, it goes to 20,000 rpm ignites ,then after about 10 seconds it shuts down. The ground support reads Ignition failed. I have the turbine mounted on a stand, new fuel lines and a new fuel filter with no restrictions in the fuel system. I tested both valves and the work fine. My battery is good and was charged. The fuel pump seams fine, I ran it by pumping kero into a container and it seamed strong. What am I doing wrong? I love this turbine and want to get it running again.

sounds like your igniter is dead, may need to send it in for a service.

HI bluelevel, I took your advice and contacted JetsMunt directly. Where do you fly? My wife's parents live by Cape Coral high school and we visit them twice a year.

If you monitor the EGT, what does the temp go to?
The ECU has to see an increase of 50C, if it does not then you will get that message. It sounds like it is not getting enough fuel to start.

Thanks for all the help in troubleshooting, it seems that I have a bad starter and will be sending the turbine in for repairs.

Merlin 100x update. After communicating with Gasper and Xavier, my turbine was sent in to resolve the problem. the ECU and the starter was bad. They quickly repaired the turbine, upgrading it to a 100xbl, for a very, very reasonable price. I have had some flights on the turbine and I am extremely happy.
keep up the good work Jets Munt.

Not surprised on the service. I have the VT80 and 100XBL and happy with both and Jetsmunt service.

Might add that I have only had one bad start with the VT80 in 3 years and cause was I wasn’t faced into wind. That was suggested by my spotter, experienced jet flyer.
Pointed the nose into wind , did a restart and ready to go in 45 seconds as advertised. .
