Default RE: Larger Revolver

Here are my specs:

Weight 9 pounds
CG As Per The Manual
Engine OS 91 SPII ( 4 stroke )
Prop 14.6 Master Airscrew K Series
Onboard Glow System.

Now to get some good weather for her first flight. Over all, the build was good. I did the mod for the landing as was done on the little one. They put a floor in the canopy so the pilot can be glue to. The throttle servo now sit behind the fuel tank, but you can remove the tank without removing the throttle servo. As for the covering, I had one spot on the hatch that I had to smoothout, but, everything else was tight. As for the color they have on this revolver, I must say I like it. The blue come alive when the sun hit it, ie metallic type!! Like I said before, I can not wait to get some good weather for the test flights. Yes I will have the little one with me so I can take notes on both. Will post my finding on the test flight!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

russm,

Here are some pictures of what I did to my gear. I did the same thing on the little revolver. The landing gear feel about the same as what on the little one and did not see much on fuselage improvments. I know it hard to see in the pictures, but, the new revolver is bigger.

Well Guys, she's a keeper!...Got five flights on her & then called it a day...10/15 mph cross/winds....This bird flys like a "Short/Tail" Venus II....Not surprised, it does have a "Giles/Pattern" wing....No landing issues, just like a Venus II....I have a YS110 with a 16x6 APC on it; nice braking...Only thing I'm changing for next time out is the cg, I'm at 5" now; going to 5-1/2"....

Sonny, Thanks for posting the cowling pics. The exhaust arrangement was my biggest concern.
I'm looking forward to your flight report. Hoping that you get good weather.
Cheers! Mike

I am looking around for a home for my GMS .76, and I think I may have found it... How do you guys think a .76 2 stroke would do?

Sonny,

Did you have to add weight? Nose or tail? I am undecided about the motor but am really leaning towards a Saito 180.

still concerned about the landing gear. any improvments from gp. the bigger the engine the more stress on the gear. the 180 sounds like fun

Mike,

No I did not add any weight in the nose or tail. The manual call for the CG at 5 1/2" and my CG is at 5" and the weight is 9 lbs on the nose!!! Now I hope we get some good weather so that I can fly her and see how it feel!!! I will post my flight review here!!!

Just watched the movie.... Damn that boy can sure fly....
Seems the .91 four stroke gets it off the ground in a hurry! plenty of power....

Yesterday I ran a tank of fuel getting the engine ready for the first fly ( when the weather let me do it!! ), and I was shock how hard the 91 pull turning a 14/6 prop. I didn't tac the prop to see the rpm, but the pull of the engine was sweet. I do think that the OS 91 II has tons of power for this bird!! Can't wait to fly her!!!!
RC gods, please give me good weather for this weekend!!!!

I just bought a couple more YS 4-strokes, a .91 and a 1.10 here on RCU. The 1.10 is going in my TF Spitifre but I'm very tempted now to get the Revolver and put the .91 in it.
